Is an uncorked half bottle of red wine safe to drink after 24 hours?!

Question:

Is an uncorked half bottle of red wine safe to drink after 24 hours?

I've got a bottle of Shiraz that's been sitting out, uncorked for about 24 hours now. It's just been on a desk at room temperature. I took a little taste and it tastes just like it did last night. Are there any potential risks or is it good to go?

Answers:
I drink red wine all the time and I can assure you that it will be ok. In fact, it may be better as it has had time to breathe and come to room temperature.

It will be fine for a couple of days. Enjoy!

no risks good to drink i drink mines even a week after being opened.

it would be safe, but I would cover your bottles if you are leaving some, even a piece of plastic wrap would be better than none at all

The alcohol would kill any germs. It's good!

Nope, should be fine. The worst part about old red wine is the taste, and if it tastes fine, it should be fine.

i would drink it

yes it's still safe to drink so go 4 it

Totally safe to drink - unless you live with my ex in which case - check it for roaches or other vermon that may be crawling around the kitchen. If something bad happens - at least you know you went "happy".
Bottom's up.
PS. If you ever do leave wine out and it tastes "bitter" use it as a replacement for vinegar in cooking.

It should be okay - but just remember to cork it or cover it with clingfilm if you have lost/broken the cork.

Best thing to do is to decant it into something smaller so that there is less air in the container to oxidize it. If you want to drink it, fine.

Another way of preserving left over wine is to freeze it in an ice-cube tray and it can then be used in cooking, where only a small amount in needed.

As long as there are no buggies floating about in it (fruit flies are attracted to some wines), it's absolutely safe to drink. Some wine experts actually say certain wines are even better if they're allowed to "breathe" that long!

If you taste the wine and find it's not to your liking anymore, save it for making the tastiest spaghetti sauce you've ever made! Cheers!

should be fine. do it all the time.
