What is a good rum to drink straight?!

Question: What is a good rum to drink straight!?
My fiance likes to have shots once in a while!. What would be a good rum or whiskey (are they the same!?) to surprise him with!? We are not big drinkers and do not keep alcohol in our house and rarely go to the liquor store and when we do, he usually grabs crown royal!. However, I find it a bit harsh and would like to know if there are any good ones that we would both like!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
