Is true that germans drink their beers hot?!

Question:

Is true that germans drink their beers hot?

Answers:
I know that a lot of beer drinkers from the continent prefer their stuff at room temperature.....I owned a pub for several years & altho we chilled all our beers, many foreigners (esp. Germans & Austrians) asked for a beer off the storeroom shelf. But they do serve & drink chilled beer in Germany too! It also depends on a country's climate. Draught beer in the UK, for example, is served around 8 degrees celsius, whereas in South Africa beer is usually served around 4 deg.
And one time this Oriental dude walked in and asked the barman to MICROWAVE his beer for 20 seconds! HUH!

just good old experience!

A friend of mine travelled to Germany a few years ago, he said the norm is to drink it at room temperature (not hot), but they also had it chilled if the person requested it.

No! Is this a joke?

In Britain, Ireland, and Germany it is common to drink beers and ales at much higher temperatures than in the states. They are gently chilled, but are almost never served frosty cold as it literally kills the taste.

The brews they have are generally stronger, heavier, and with more alcohol content and not meant to be pounded down like ice water or cola substitute.

European brews have been served and enjoyed for centuries usually at the temperature of the cellar they are stored in. As the weather changed by season they would change the beer formulas to match the weather (and serving conditions).

Modern refrigeration is a luxury that has only been widely available in recent years, and thus most Europeans do not have as much of a taste for their beverages being served "ice cold".

And yes I have known many Orientals that drink nearly everything from warm to hot (even plain old water) so why not beer too.

Perhaps in a steak and ale pie.

No. They most commonly drink beer at room temperature.

Absolutely not !!! They drink Beer not as Cold as here in the States and i can tell you why too......European Beer has more Taste and Flavor than American.....the Beer's here you can only drink if it's almost Frozen, so you dont have to taste it !!!!
"SORRY" BUDWEISER.....

Hot, no, but almost all drinks are at room temperature. They seem to think that cold drinks are not good for you. But, whatever.
