Hi Danimal

You will find that my spelling is correct. All these whiskies are Scotch whisky. The Scottish spelling of whisky is without an "e". You are using the Irish/American spelling with an "e". As I am Scottish I prefer my own spelling and if I was referring to an Irish or American whiskey then I would give them the respect they deserve and spell them with an "e" as I have just done here.

I don't know because I'm a blend drinker, but, while I do agree that you can differentiate between malts,I know that you can't between blends, and I did the test to prove that.I once ran a bar in which the J.W. reps had arranged a lunchtime meeting, and had done the right thing by calling ahead to let me know.A quick check in the cellar revealed that we were out of JW Red,which is obviously what they were going to drink, since,as I'm sure you know, the Scots working man tends not to go in for deluxe or malts, especially when he's on a bender.(Should I have needed to add that a lunchtime meeting and a bender are synonymous?)Anyway, one quick search through the bottle skip produced an empty JW Red bottle, which was then filled with Old Inverness(and later re-filled again and again),and never a word of doubt came from those guys as they tried to keep their money in the company by guzzling Old Inverness all afternoon. As my granny would have said,it just goes to show ye.

oooooooo im a whiskey virgin..ive never heard of any of them!!

Springbank or Longrow no wood finish
or
Balvenie, I know its not on your list but it is nice.

Adel, keep your religion to yourself and answer the question you religious types get on my nerves, Whisky is a luxury and something to enjoyed, try and loosen up

Could I please just have a shot of Jack? Sign me up.

none sorry i prefer glen morangie any year i think its a lovely whiskey

None of them.

The amount of alcohol in these drinks is just obscene. Anyway, I guess my opinion about this matter is biased because drinking any kind of alcohol is against my religion, Islam. But even if it wasn't against my religion I think I would avoid these drinks as they can cause serious problems to health and mental condition. Anyway, what's wrong with Red Bull, Coca-Cola, and orange juice? Oh yeah and what about chocolate milk? Isn't that better for you, and plus it's more affordable. But anyway let me stop here because I know you all are probably thinking "oh gosh what the heck is all this cheesy stuff this guy is writing, is he for real!?!" Ok, well, I'll just see you all later cuz I gotta go now.

Bring out the fancy whiskey brands and he can't even spell whiskey. Me and the tasty whiskeys like Jim Beam, Bookers and Wild Turkey 101 are going to go and enjoy some correct spelling. Peace out.

I like a wee nip now and then so can i try number 2 please.. Only becoz it is the strongest 58.5% lolxxx

Just reading that list made me feel looped! And I've not tried any of them... the only whiskys I've tried are Canadian Club Classic (aged 14 years, I think), and Gibson's Finest (aged 18). The Gibson's was yummy... very smooth. As for finishes... I am generally content if I don't finish up under the table! (Ever heard that saying... One's the best, two's the most, three under the table, four under the host!)

Oh... and I've had experiences with Jack Daniels as well... but I don't think sourmash counts as whiskey...

I'm feeling bad today. Just a shot or two of any of the above might help me feel better. Just a shot or two. No more. To be honest with you I've never heard of any of them.

Danimal - you can't spell whiskey. Or at least you don't seem to understand the use of the spellings.

Whisky comes from Scotland, whiskey from Ireland. For some reason the USA has also adopted whiskey with an 'e'. God knows why, the stuff they make is an insult to real whiskey.

Bushmills single malt 12 year old is one of my favourites, but I also like Bowmore and the infamous Talisker.

no

Jameson's 18, Bushmill's 12. I prefer any Irish whiskey over any of those blends.

These almost are all independent bottler versions, but which?
White & McKay, Gordon McPhail...?

I think I'd start with the blend Old Parr then to the delicate Glenallachie-Glenlivet, on to Springbank from the lowlands, next to Royal Brackla, Glen Scotia and have the Brora 30 yr. for dessert.

I'm exhausted and more than a wee bit tipsy....

please tell me you didn't try all of them at the tasting??!!

mmmm. I'll have a Glenallachie thanks :)

Think I'll head down to the Malt Whisky Society for tea :)

Lmao you tell him..xxx
