Should I eat the sauce even though wine's an ingredient?!

Question: Should I eat the sauce even though wine's an ingredient!?
It's Newman's Organic spaghetti sauce with cabernet wine as the third main ingredient!. I'm not particularly fond of the wine's taste, and I'm not of drinking age, but my parents don't like sauce anyway!. Can I eat 1/2 cup sauce without harm!? I'm 16!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here's a few points:

1) The amount of actual wine you would get in half a cup of sauce would be so small that a 6 year old would not be affected and that is only prior to the sauce having been cooked because:

2) Spaghetti sauce is cooked after the wine ingredient is added and the alcohol in wine (ethanol) boils off at a lower tempurature than water does!. This effectively means that any food that is boiled or simmered after an alcoholic ingredient is added will have no remaining alcohol by the time it is actually served!. The purpose of the wine is flavor, nothing more!.

3) If a food or drink is not sold in a restricted manner in your area (ie you are required to be legal drinking age to purchase it) then you can assume that is both legal and safe for you to consume it, even if there is a nominally alcoholic ingredient in it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes if you like it eat it i make sauces with wine all the time when you make a sauce with wine you cook the alcohol out you physically heat up the wine and use a lighter to actually burn the alcohol out what you have left is simply the flavor of the wine without the bite which is probably what turns you off!. so try the sauce if you like it eat it if not dont!.
p!.s!. newmans own donates profit to charity i think its reall cool that you buy itWww@FoodAQ@Com

Do not fear!.!.!.!.you will have no after effects from consuming the spaghetti sauce!. When any food with wine in it, is cooked the alcohol burns off or let me say, evaporates!. It just flavors the food and you will not become intoxicated from the alcohol!. Enjoy and do not worry!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Newman's is a great brand! You have no need to worry about consuming any food or sauce made with spirits!. If it wasn't safe, the whole of Italy would be alcoholics! LOL Seriously, the alcohol is 'burned off' during the cooking process!. Bonn appetite!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sure you can and without any harm!. The wine is added just to give flavour and all the alcohol content is evaporated by cooking!. The sauce′s taste is like sauce, not like wine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Of course you can, your most likely gonna cook off most of the alcohol content anyways!. Wine tastes different when incorporated as an ingredient in food!. You most likely have nothing to worry about unless your allergic to grapes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you cant taste the wine at all and it is safe to drink, 'you wont get drunk!.cooking takes all the alcohol out and the factory cooks it also so even if you ate it cold there is still no alcohol in itWww@FoodAQ@Com

Go for it!. The wine just adds a subtle flavor!. It won't taste like wine!. You won't even know it's in there!.

The alcohol is cooked off, so no need to worry!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the alcohol has been cooked off!.!.!.!. there is no residual alcohol in the sauce or they would have to specifically declare the alcohol content on the label!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes, the alcohol is cooked off and wine can add great flavor to many dishes!. People that dont drink for religous or health reasons should know that wine enhances flavor and does not add alcoholWww@FoodAQ@Com

sure you can, just don't overdo it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The wine cooks off!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
