Ambrosia arose out of Greek mythology and could actually be either food or drink of the gods!. It was regarded as nectar, and had a fragrant element to it also!. To describe a wine as ambrosia would give the wine an esoteric, god-like image of it!. But from what I can gather any fragrant nectar can be referred to as ambrosia!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I think the generic meaning of the word "ambrosia" is just something that tastes incredibly good!.!.!.!. like this fruit salad:
FRUIT AMBROSIA
2 c!. heavy whipping cream
1/2 c!. sugar
1 tsp!. vanilla
1/2 tsp!. almond extract
1 large can mandarin oranges, drained
1-2 cans fruit cocktail, drained
3-4 c!. miniature marshmellows
Beat cream, sugar & extracts until very stiff peaks!. Fold in fruit & marshmellows and chill!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
