German!. Not trying to make fun - I am serious!.
I have seen boot references twice recently!.
1!. The movie Beerfest - terrible movie, but is almost entirley based on the trials of drinking from a boot
2!. Madison Wisconsin bar(s) - where I have seen this poured and served to unwitting college students - as Wisconsin has a great deal of German heritage - I'd say there is a connection!.
My personal belief though would be that a lighter beer without a lot of carbonation would be a good bet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You mean an actual shoe or a shoe-shaped glass!?
Out of a shoe, you'd probably want something as dark and heavy as possible to cover up that foot taste!.
out of a boot glass, (DAAAAAAAS BOOOOOOOOOOT!) try a german Oktoberfest lager!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, I don't know what is traditional, but you might want to go with something lighter and with less carbonation so you can suck it down easier!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I'd just default to some German lager style such as Pilsener, Marzen, or Dortmunder!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
