Is there a alcoholic drink that will help sleep if taken before bed?

Answers:
That's a first step to being an alcoholic...surley!!
There are other better ways than drink. you might get into a routine of havinga drink before bed,the next thing is you'll be having when you wake up! crazy,
try Night nurse : ) or go & see your doctor ; )

have a few beers

Vodka n redbull. so if your boo is horny in bed you maybe asleep but the rest is wide awake haha

Several of any of them

a nice glass of red wine. x

i suggest you forget the alcohol and consult a doctor if you have trouble sleeping. for instance, there are over the counter medicines that can be used if needed (lunesta and other meds). don't drink; you'll most likely have an uncomfortable sleep.

Drinking alcohol to help sleep is not a good idea, alcohol is a stimulant. so although you may drift off you will have a very light sleep and not be well rested you will also be dehydrated (hung over) when you wake up.

There are some foods that contain somthing that stimulates a hormone in your brain that will help you sleep.

Off the top of my head....Bananna, Turkey and broccoli are a few of these

Actually, drinking booze to make you sleepy is a myth. Yes, it makes you "tired" but in reality, the sleep you get is a disturbed sleep and you wont feel rested in the morning.

Try melatonin or valerian root (both avail in the vitamin aisle).

a whisky (a wee dram)so i've been told;)

A small measure of whisky in hot milk will help you sleep

Ignore The Don. Alcohol is a depressant, not a stimulant. The drunk feeling you get from drinking is nothing to do with it being a stimulant. Alcohol will help you sleep if it doesn't have caffiene in it, but if you're having trouble try Nytol.

I would not recommend vodka and red bull because the red bull is a stimulant that will keep you awake!!!!(caffeine +++)

I find that a tot of Baileys works for me.

drinking any alcohol before bed is not good. it may help you fall asleep [pass-out]but you will not sleep as well as if you had not drank.honestly try warm milk.it has a chemical in it that makes you sleepy[like turkey].if i remember correctly from my cooking school day's orange juice has a chemical that gives you energy and that is why we drink it in the morning.

I assume we are talking about one drink, not getting drunk!

I find a large whisky helps me sleep like a log. A hot toddy - whisky, hot water, sugar and lemon juice (optional) is often recommended.

Boy there are some real party poopers around here...
Have a nice, warmed glass of brandy or Cognac...works beautifully!

Hot Totie!A lil bit of brandy with ur tea and add cinnamon.Knocks me out every time!

Try Melatonin or Valerian root instead. Chamomile tea works well too. Look for "Sleepy Time" tea, as well. It is natural, and won't give you a hangover. Alcohol making you sleepy is a myth. Your body doesn't get a restful sleep. Not a good idea. Consult your doctor would probably be the first step before you start self-medicating. Good luck.

try horlicks it does work..Alcohol is not a good idea for to get sleep ..

a mug of hot milk while reading a good book in bed works alchohol is a stimulant

I find that it is just a case of drinking enough to make you sleep that counts . Although red bull and vodka doesn't work at all well

You need a good man or woman to help you. But if you must drink then try a glass of non-vintage port (ok so if you are seriously rich then vintage) alternatively a sparkling shiraz in a warm bath with the candles lit which I find very helpful - relaxing - zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

No alcohol, This will only add to your sleeping problem′s .Think SAND. Before you get settled for the night , do your normal shower , bath. Fined some soft back ground music, pop into to bed & relax. Now imagine your whole body is full of SAND, keep thinking how heavy the SAND feel′s. Your legs are full of SAND , your upper body is full of SAND . You are full of SAND . Now imagine your body has tiny little holes, & the SAND is slowly flowing from these little holes in your body. Slowly ,Slowly the SAND is flowing from your body. Relax here the music in the back ground, your are feeling more relaxed now. The Sand is flowing from the tiny little holes, Please try this , it works. It might take time , but you will fall asleep. The drink will only make you feel good for the 1 night , what about all the others

Have a generous helping of Baileys in a decent coffee, works for me!

Alcohol in general will make you drowsy but getting intoxicated prevents you from sleeping as well as you should (it has something to do with sleep cycles).

milk and bananas

Drink 3 glasses if wine. Or go 'till you get a moderate buzz.

try 2 shots of whiskey

A glass of red wine, it has been proven to contain/produce the hormones that enduce sleep.

the spanish lamumba works for me hot chocolate with a double brandy in it. allow the chocolate to cool for a little while so it does'nt kill the alcohol.
