Is it ok to have a DJ @ an outside party in the park?!

Question:

Is it ok to have a DJ @ an outside party in the park?

Its a public park, and I'm turning 18 and the theme is " kids for one last time" is that lame? where going to play childhood games and have a water fight! if you have any ideas let me know thanks!

Answers:
Definitely check to see if you need a permit. I have DJ'ed dozens of parties in parks and whatnot, the main thing is keeping the music at an undisturbing level. The less rowdy - the better if there is a lot of other people around.

Call the City Hall and see if it's either allowed or you need a permit. There's probably a noise ordinance (not that anyone follows it!).

That sounds like a great party! Nothing like feeling young again.

well it depends where the park is if its by a lot of houes then no b/c the other ppl will get mad but if its out by its self then go 4 it
have fun in whatever ur going to do ;)

Its hard to say. You should check with the people you rented the park from, or if you didn't rent the park, check with your city/town hall. You may need a permit. You should also check if there are any noise regulations in the area, especially if the park is in a residential zone.

no thats a great idea, to say goodbye to your childhood.

You have to call the city parks and recreations for regulations.

You probably need to make a reservation with the city first.

Most city parks (at least in Atlanta) will not allow you to have a DJ outside without prior written consent. My best advice, check with the park or local city hall to find out about their noise ordiance.

Yeah..sure..rather, it would be great fun to have it in open air. however, make sure that others don't have issues with loud music. It would be better if you have it a level, where others won't feel disturbed. Do get the permit for hosting it. You can have the DJ late evening.
