How do I entertain a bunch of hooligans?
I am going to be holding a small afternoon tea during the FA cup final and there are going to be fans of both Chelsea and Man U there. How do I keep them from offending my elderly neighbours without ruining our own festivities?

Ah tricky! It would be a disaster if someone spilt some earl grey on the Axminster, or dropped some crumbs of scone. And if your elderly neighbours heard one of your guests saying "Good gracious, referee, I'm afraid you may need spectacles" then things could descend into mild bad manners. I suggest you reconvene to the local village hall for your festivities. What colour shirt will you be wearing?
its best just to advise your neigbours first there will be trouble and if they can kindly switch their hearing aids off if it becomes to intolerable. advise them phoning the police is only likely to bring more trouble after the alcohol has started flowing.
Make a donation to your fire brigade that in the event any mindless hooligan behaviour, to turn on their high powered hoses.
Invite one group or the other and get off the fence yourself.
serve non alcoholic larger in jugs so they don't know
that way there will be no alcohol based conflict
Invite your neighbors. When they decline (and they should), then take them something such as a bottle of wine, take out, or flowers, to thank them ahead of time for being tolerant. They will love you and think that, although you might be loud and obnoxious at times, you are a good child at heart! LOL
invite the neighbors buy a keg and a case of wine and some Bob Gibson-Decatur, alabama-Bar-B-que and you will dwell in the spot reserved for saints.

I suggest you talk to your neighbours. Explain your fears.they may well then decide its better to go out for a bit or may join you.
