Fondue ideas?!
Fondue ideas?
Im thinking of having a fondue for about 8 people. Anyone got any ideas for a fun evening and what all I would need to get?
I know that I need to get the meat and oil but any extras that you guys can think of?
Answers:
Lobster or shrimp.
Steak
Mushrooms
Potatoes (I use the canned ones, because they're already partiallycooked, and potatoes take a long time.)
Little onions.
Zuccini or yellow squash, maybe
Brussell sprouts, if you like 'em
Really anything you can stick on the end of a fork and it will cook in a couple minutes.
And some sauces for dipping.

However, Toblerone chocolate and cream make a fantastic chocolate fondue for strawberries, oranges, bananas and apple. I've introduced this to friends who are amateur chefs and they love it!
Enjoy
To impress your guests, what about chinese fondue/hotpot. You need a pot of good stock (chicken/vegetable) in the middle of the table. A wide range of meat, seafood, vegetables, noodles, egg, etc (anything you can think of really). My friends love it. It's healthier than oil fondue. The soup at the end of the meal is the best!
I love cheese fondue. Also dark chocolate fondue for fruit and marshmallow for after dinner.
when close to done....... you can whip up some tempura batter...and slice up chuncks of banana and put some bowls of hot chocolate sauce on the table and make banana tempura and there ya go dessert
My fav is Mexican Fondue. Asadero cheese, and chorrizzo. Cook the Chorrizzo, add to the melted cheese, scoop it out and put it in a warm corn tortilla. mmmmmmmmmm
i never had fondue sounds tasty
Chocolate is the best! You can also have a plate of crushed nuts, and also have marshmallows and any other fruit! It's great! I cook it for my friends all the time and they love them!
