Question:

I nedd some food ideas for a picnic for a pre-school class.?

Answers:
Cheez-its crackers or graham crackers, fruit cups, juicy-juice/welches drink boxes, raisins, (thinking egg & peanut free cause most kids are allergic at this age), carrot sticks, apple slices, jell-o. These are primarily-healty finger foods that require little by way of clean up & utensils. Also, keep in mind that kids that age are going to focus more on playing than eating, and are picky when they do, so these are also cheap foods to purchase.

Sandwiches and chips, fruit and cupcakes, maybe water or juice. Snacks for pre schoolers are best kept simple

ants on a log-
celery sticks with cream cheese and rasins or peanut butter and chocolate chips

grapes
orange slices
or go to kraftkitchens.com and go to their just for kids section

fruit cups or brownies

If your child's school isn't totally hung up on good nutrition, and this can be a dessert, you need to look at this link...

I've made this for my 5 kids preschool classes at every end of the year picnic, and they never fail to be a HUGE hit! They are a little time consuming, but the reaction is worth it! They are the first thing to go from the dessert table, and people go crazy over how cute they are. Make sure you make a lot!

mini sandwitches, juiceboxes, cheese goldfish, applesauce and sliced fruit

Peanut butter and marshmellow sanwiches,Bottled flavored water,Cheese sticks, carrot sticks, individually wrapped cookies/cupcakes, apple slices. Lots of paper towels, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, garbage bags, bandaids,SPF 30 Lotion.

Peanut butter and jelly - you can cut the sandwiches out with cookie cutters or use biscuits instead of bread. Add some fruit apple and orange slices, grapes, berries. Juice box drinks are easy and fun. Raw veggies and dip are popular too-baby carrots, broccoli and cauliflower are all easy to handle and kids love them with dip.

Celery stuffed with peanut butter (check if any allergies to peanuts first)

Barbequed chicken wings and drumettes.

Cheese and crackers

Cut up apples and grapes or a fruit salad of cantalope, grapes, honey dew and watermelon bite size pieces put in dixie cups.

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and tuna sandwiches cut into fourths for finger sandwich.

Small carrots

I suggest going very simple

You can do trail mixes in small bags- pretzels, cherrios, chocolate chips, goldfish, dried fruits

You can do peanut butter sandwichs cut in fourths

crackers and peanut butter

juice boxes or just bottled water

tortillas pinwheels with peanut butter

You can also do tortilla wraps with all kind of meats, cheeses, etc.

Baked beans and hot dogs. Kids love them and they are a bit healthier than chips, cookies, and cakes.

this website has recipes for a pre school class.

Make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and use cookie cutters to make fun shapes, gold fish crackers, fruit cups, water and/or juice boxes.

Samosas(Indian stuff)

pintioe chesese sandwich

" hot dog octopuses " use ones with natural casing for best results split hot dogs 1/2 way down 6 ways(i know it should be 8 but then there too thin) like an octopus. when put on the grill the split end curl up! make eyes with mustard ,ketchup for mouths or just have the kids do there own"decorating" there cute ,fun and perfect kid food!

I would take care to consider food allergies, such as to peanuts, dairy, wheat. so why not ask parents to send a lunch and you provide water, fruit juice and fruit, ie single serve. Inform the parents of what you are providing. Enjoy your time with them!

kids are suckers for anything that looks "gross" like the "dirt pudding" all it is is chocloate pudding spooned on top of crushed oreos and gummi worms mixed in it. its always a hit! my personal favorite (and kids love it) is kitty litter cake:

1 spice or German-chocolate cake mix

1 white cake mix

2 large packages instant vanilla pudding

1 large package of vanilla or lemon sandwich cookies

Green food coloring (optional - blue food coloring)

1 dozen small Tootsie Rolls?

1 new kitty litter pan

1 new kitty litter scoop

Prepare the cake mixes, using any size or shape of pan, according to package directions and allow to cool to room temperature.

Prepare pudding mix according to package directions and chill until ready to assemble the cake.

Crush the sandwich cookies in small batches into a food processor, scraping often. Set aside all but about 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup of cookie crumbs, add a few drops of green food coloring, perhaps a drop of blue and mix until completely and thoroughly colored.

When the cake is cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Add 1/2 of the uncolored cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding. IMPORTANT: mix in just enough pudding to moisten and hold the mixture together. Too much pudding will render the finished cake too soggy. Gently fold to combine.

Spoon the cake/pudding/cookie mixture into the litter box and smooth the top.

Heat three Tootsie Rolls? in the microwave until soft and pliable. Shape the ends so they're no longer blunt, but rounded and slightly curved. You know the effect you're trying to achieve! Repeat with three more Tootsie Rolls? . Stick these six Tootsie Rolls? in the cake/pudding/cookie mixture.

Sprinkle the remaining uncolored cookie crumbs over the top of the cake/pudding/cookie mixture. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly over the top - the idea is to make it resemble the colored chlorophyll / deodorizer particles found in kitty litter.

Heat five Tootsie Rolls? in the microwave until almost melted, then scrape them onto the top of the cake and drag through and/or sprinkle with some of the cookie crumbs. Heat the last Tootsie Roll? in the microwave until pliable, then stick it over the side of the litter box and sprinkle lightly with the cookie crumbs.

Place a sheet of newspaper on your serving table, place the kitty litter box in the center and sprinkle with some of the cookie crumbs on the newspaper. Place the kitty litter scoop on or next to the little box.

a little time consuming but oh so worth it! it tastes great too! im actually going to go make it now it sounds really good now!
