How much food will i need for 70 people?
I am having a party. I am making Chile Verde and Chile Colorado for 70 people. I am using London Broil and Pork Shoulder. How many pounds of meat do I need? I usually go to my local Carniceria and get it. The butcher will chop it for me.

I would 18 pounds of each that way you will for sure have enough. That would give you 36 pounds and that would allow for seconds if wanted. If you are going to have beans, rice, sopas, and salad you can do only 15 of each.Make sure to have servers so everyone gets the same amount. They will eat good and you will not spend a lot of money..Do chicken mole....
i think u need 15 pounds of meat
whatever you do keep the people happy and get triple the things because if they like it they are going to be some hungry scavengers also get alot of drinks every kind cuz everyone has different taste and you would be good oh and you also need leftovers cuz it would feed you for at least a week
1/4 lb. of each beef and pork per person after chopping weight I'd go with 20lbs. each to be safe. enjoy!
I shall assume that you are having quite a few side dishes as well, ey? To serve 70 people, you have to figure that all 70 will want to enjoy both the Chile Verde and the Chile Colorado, so you'll be purchasing the same amount. Since the meat is chopped and cooks down, then is eaten with tortillas, you probably won't need as much as you would if you were carving it. I'd plan on 1 cup each per person, which should equate to about 4 oz per cup.

I think 15 lbs each of pork and beef.
evite.com has a wonderful food and drink calculator. I use it to plan my meals. Usually 1/2 pound of meat per person. Ask your butcher.
ask your guest which they perfer and order accordingly you don't want to waste good food... sound delicious have fun
