Gas is easier and they now have the brickettes for gas grills so it will still taste like charcoal...
Good Luck

charcoal bbq
Charcoal best in the taste category, but gas gets the thumbs up for convience.
charcoal, and LOTS of it!!!
Gas is easier but charcoal taste better
charcoal bbq
Charcoal, it gives food that extra flavor that says BBQ.
charcoal bbq. the gas mostly smells in the meat
Charcoal, after a year of having my huge new grill/smoker I have mastered it and that is half the fun. Might as well cook inside if you use gas.
charcoal. depending on the type of charcoal bbq grill you have, if it has no or limited height adjustment then use briquets, if your grill has a greater adjustment then, i would suggest you use wood, almond, citrus, hickory, oak. there is also a good natural mesquit charcoal.
Some one asked this question yesterday and to you I will hive the same answer: Anybody who would buy a gas grill today with the gas and oil shortages should be incarcerated.
Get a gas bbq (it's so much faster and easier), then sprinkle charcoal briquettes around. It's not quite the same, but it doesn't take hours to heat up and no taste of starter fluid!
I prefer charcoal to gas - I don't think it is as expensive either.
My personal preference is charcoal. The taste is better.
Gas is best for convenience, but charcoal is better for taste. I can always tell the difference, charcoal just has that extra little something.
use only propane and propane accessories
in my opinion, and i've owned both propane and charcoal grills and smokers, charcoal is much better. you can't get the same flavor on a propane grill that you get on charcoal. no, there is no coal taste at all.
Charcol, is best. The bad after taste happens when too much lighter fluid is used.
Gas.
Let me break it down for you - one heats up in 20 min and one heats up in 3. Go gas. If there's a taste difference at all, it's not enough to make a difference. My family has gas, my in-laws have charcoal and both families are big-time bbq'ers. The real difference is in the choice of meat!
Charcoal all the way. With gas, you might as well cook inside.
Love charcoal, more outdoorsy.you can add mesquite, apple chips etc. to enhance the taste.Bon Appetite
charcoal....better flavor. wait till the coals are white
