Any ideas for making a recipe book with my students?!

Question:

Any ideas for making a recipe book with my students?

I wanna make a special recipe book for my students with recipes they can make with their mums. I ask from each child to bring a recipe and then we ll make the book. I was thinking of making an index and the cover for each child that will colour it. So what else u think i would include?

- Any recipes from me?
- A nutrition introduction?
- Some healhty recipes ? (any suggested links?)

I ll appreciate any ideas. Even a good recipe u think i should definetely include!

Thx so much in advance!:)

You have young students? I'm guessing?
An index would be nice, listing the recipe and child's name.
It would be nice to have a picture of the child on the left page and recipe on right page.
A nice touch as far as a cover, would be to have a group picture of you and your class, paste to a thick colored poster board, add another different colored poster board with a hole cut out to showcase the picture, have each child write their name or color a picture on his/her book cover, then laminate. After compliling your cook-book, it would be nice to have all pages laminated, so the kids and parents can enjoy it for years to come. If you do this, be sure to leave enough room on the left side of the page.....to have a scrapbook type fold and room for holes to use clasps or even pretty ribbon to hold together.
What a wonderful idea. You students and parents will remember you forever.

My son's kidergarten class made a coobook and I treasure it. Each child made a cover sheet and a back page, These sheets were laminated. Then each child brought a recipe or two from home and they were typed along with the child's name. These were copied on a copier, then assembled into a book. The teacher and her aide put in recipes too. What a great keepsake!

When I was in Kindergarten (23 years ago...) we made a book of recipes. The teacher sat down with us and asked us what recipe we wanted to share and we had to recite how we thought the recipe went. She wrote it down word for word exactly how we told it to her. Then we put all of the classes recipes together and made a book with the plastic binding machines and gave them to our moms for mother's day. I look at that book now and laugh because you really couldn't make anything from it... the recipes are hillarious!!!
