Any Prom Theme Ideas?
We are having a prom at school and i'm on the prom comitee.
We need a theme but we cant have oscars or grease because other years have alrady had them.
iv already suggested masqurade

you could try maybe a 50's Grease theme
famous couples throughout history, think cleopatra and mark anthony, romeo and juliet, barbie and ken. i stole this idea from a movie, "never been kissed" i think, but it looks like a lot of fun! a pimps and hoes party could be fun too. jk.
Choose a theme that can benifit a charity group too. This will make your prom double-special. Why not go with nature and find a wildlife refuge group to donate to. You could do jungle theme or mother nature where the earth tones can be worn or animal prints for the dresses. Or, you could do ocean and suggest the dresses and tux's be ocean colors or nauticle style.
The great thing about doing a benifit prom is the publicity. You can end up with tons of free stuff for the charity and the event!
Think on it awhile and your group will have a hit!
Roaring 20's -- flappers, prohibition, speakeasies (secret bars where people went to drink and party), police raids, Al Capone, Pretty Boy Floyd (gangsters in the mob), model T ford automobiles, Jazz, Charlie Chaplin, Silent Films.
**Have a secret password to enter the prom (you had to have the secret password to enter a speakeasy). For favors you could have little shot glasses.
Fiesta -- bright colored mexican blankets, sombreros, dried chili peppers, take pics with mexican blanket backdrop, favors can be plastic colored margarita glasses or little sombreros
New York City at Night -- Make backdrop of NYC skyline. Hang stars and 1/4 moons from ceiling. glitter on tables. Champagne glasses for favors.
Hawaiian Luau or Carribean Beach Party -- Bright Colors, Flower Leis, Margarita Glasses, Virgin Pina Coladas or Virgin Strawberry Daquiris, Hurricane Glasses for party favors, fishing net hung on wall for decoration. Shells & confetti for table decoration. Everyone can dance with their shoes off like they are on the beach!
