Are hops grown in the midwest, USA or just in the northwest, such as Oregon and Washington?!
Answers:
Hops will grow well in most areas of the US!. The northeast was once a large Hop growing area of the country although this is not the case any longer!. Heirloom varieties of hops that are used by some microbreweries are grown in small batches throughout the US!. But as you say, the huge producers are in the northwest!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
The largest portion of Hops in the US is grown in the Northwest, but Hops can be grown successfully almost anywhere in the country!.!.!.
Its a plant that thrives in a cool but temperate climate, hence the mass production in the pacific northwest!.!.!. also notice the absurd amount of breweries in California, Oregon, etc!. its not a coincidenceWww@FoodAQ@Com

Better hope the U!.S crop is a good one after 3 straight years of bad weather the European one the gow the most and are the most popular by all brewers in the U!.S and all around the world, and with the price of grain rising because of the amount being shunted to bio-fuels!.
While the U!.S hops are very good the European ones are more complex and more flavourful, there is just not enough grown in the U!.S to supply the whole U!.S market!. As previously stated they grow in cool temperate areas were the warm days are long, nights are cool and they are able to breath in the mist of the night and morning!. Tehy grow on pole s with a wire support are a vine like grapes and are cut down and trashed off the stocks!.
I have used fresh hops in France when I was a chef, they are almost a veg at a small stage, but until they can recopperate in Europe the hop prices in the US and supply will be stressed!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
