It probably just means he bottled it early and it wasn't finished fermenting at the time!. This happens a lot if you fermented the wine during the winter during cold weather, and then bottle in the early spring!. Once the weather gets warm in summer, fermentation may start back up in the bottle and add carbonation!.
There is nothing pathogenic that survives in wine, so pour it, drink it, if it tastes okay, then there's no problem at all!. If it tastes really really bad, then it got a bacterial contamination that turned it to funk!. Just pour it out!. It should be just fine, so taste and enjoy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
