Answers:
To be honest with you, the mixes just miss it!.!.!.!.No matter how they try to be close there is nothing better than made from scratch

Cuban Mojito recipe

the original authentic recipe from Havana Cuba
1 teaspoon powdered sugar
Juice from 1 lime (2 ounces)
4 mint leaves
1 sprig of mint
Havana Club white Rum (2 ounces) or any white rum
2 ounces club soda

Place the mint leaves into a long mojito glass (often called a "collins" glass) and squeeze the juice from a cut lime over it!. You'll want about two ounces of lime juice, so it may not require all of the juice from a single lime!. Add the powdered sugar, then gently smash the mint into the lime juice and sugar with a muddler (a long wooden device pictured below, though you can also use the back of a fork or spoon if one isn't available)!. Add ice (preferably crushed) then add the rum and stir, and top off with the club soda (you can also stir the club soda in as per your taste)!. Garnish with a mint sprig!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

With the mixes, all you need to do is add ice and rum!. You could add your own mint if you wanted, but the 'mix' is supposed to have that mint flavor!. They do not taste as good!. In fact, some of them are down right disgusting!. I haven't yet found a mojito mix that didn't taste like nasty minty sugar water, Yuck!.

I prefer to make mine from scratch!. They're really not that difficult to make and they are so refreshing on a warm day!.

And yes, you can use sugar cubes, but you'll have to muddle them down a lot to break them up!.

My recipe is:

In a cocktail shaker:

1/2 oz simple syrup (plain sugar will work too)
3 or 4 mint leaves
3 or 4 lime wedges

Muddle together until the leaves and limes start to break down!.

Add ice and 2 1/2 oz of Bacardi Limon!. (Any rum will do, but I prefer a citrus rum!. It really makes a BIG difference!.)

Shake and pour into a sugar rimmed glass!. Top off with a splash of soda water and a lime to garnish!.

Kick back in a hammock and enjoy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

In a tall thin glass, crush about 3 mint sprigs with 2 tsp sugar!. Add 3 tbsp lime juice, stir to dissolve and top with ice!. Add 1 1/2 oz light rum rum!. Top off with *chilled* club soda (or seltzer)!. Garnish with a lime slice, mint, and enjoy!.

After you make a couple of these you won't need to measure anymore!. You will know the measurements by sight!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

2oz of rum
2oz lime juice
2oz sparkling water
Mint leaves
1teaspoon of granulated sugar!.

Simply throw everything in glass, stir and drink!. Some people like to mix it in one glass, fill another with crush ice and pour from one glass to the other!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

And keep in minds the FRESH (as fresh as possible, ideally - just cut from the mint plant) mint leaves is very important for the good mojito!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
