What brand or type of red wine is sweet and not to dry? It would need to be something that is trendy I guess?!

Why didn't you just ask this in the baby section!? You know us BFers love our wine! ;-)

I'll throw in my two sense!.!.!.

My favorite red is from the Finger Lakes region!. It's called Wagner's Vineyard Alta B Red Table Wine!. It is not overly dry and has a sweet after taste!. It is not very expensive, maybe $10 a bottle!. You can find it all over the place up here, but I am in New York so it might be a little more difficult to find up your way!.

Another great Finger Lakes Wine is from Bully Hill Vineyards!. Its called Sweet Walter and the packaging is awesome! Its a little too sweet for my taste, but my hubby loves it!.

Smoking Loon Merlot is also a great one! You can find that anywhere and it is pretty popular!. It is a little more on the dry side, but not overly so!. Its not bitter like Merlot tends to be!.!.!.and again the bottle is pretty cute (can you tell how I pick out my wines!?!?!?)!.

If you really want sweet red, try any type of port!. Anything from Portugal is going to be your best bet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Malbec is the trendiest varietal out there right now (at least in the Baltimore/DC area)!.

It's easy to drink, medium bodied, not overly dry and certainly not sweet!. Best part is, Malbecs are fairly inexpensive!

Look in the South American section of your wine retailer!. The current vintages available in most places (2005 and 2006) from Argentina were both good!

EDIT:
Just realized I misread the question some!.!.!. I thought it said not sweet!. Sorry!

Try a [red] Zinfandel from California or an Australian Shiraz!. Both often have a jammy, fruit bomb flavor!.

Enjoy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You could always get a white zinfandel (which is really pink) !.!.!. it would be sweet and popular with younger drinkers (although, don't serve it to any "serious" wine drinkers!) !.!.!. definitely a party wine!. If you want even cheaper wine, you could get Spanada (and put orange slices in it), or even Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill, or some bottles of Seagram's wine coolers!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try Riunite Lambrusco, It has everything your looking for!.!.!.!.Congratulations!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
