Blanc Merlot--is there such a thing?!

Question: Blanc Merlot--is there such a thing!?

Answers:
A white wine and a red wine actually has very little to do with the color of the grape used, and more to do with the fermentation process!. For a true "RED" wine, it is fermented on the skins and pulp!. A "WHITE" wine is just the juice fermented, without the skins and pulp!. White wines usually tend to be cleaner tasting because of this, but don't contain a lot of the healthful benefits that you get from the skins when making red wine!. So basically, your friend is wrong and doesn't know his stuff!. Your wine is a merlot made from just the juice, not the whole fruit with skins!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
