Why do people drink beer?!

Well, smell is only one part of the beer experience!. Beer and wine are very identical!. The main diference is what you brew it from!. Personally, I love beer, but can not stand wine!.
To answer this question fully, let me explain a bit the history of beer!. In the old days, water wasn't as healthy for you as it is now!. also grain would go bad very quick so there wasn't a way to store it long enough to last say a whole winter!. Well, the solution to both problems came with beer!. Basically, because of the sanitzation needed to brew beer, and the alcohol in the beer itself, it was pretty free of contamination!. So people started to use it for water (beer is about 85% water) and to make their grain last threw the winter!.
Today beer is much different!. Like some others have said, it is somewhat of an aquired taste!. One of the benefits of beer is that is relatively low in alcohol (usually between 3 and 6 percent by volume) and therefore very easily to drink socially!. Now, liquor (which usually comes between 20 and 60 percent by volime) you usually have to mix with something else to be able to drink it socially!. Beer as the advantage that you can drink it pretty much as is and not have to mix it to get the same result!. also, there are so many different types of beer that almost anyone can find something they like!. The main problem people have with beer is they just drink one or two brand of the comercial stuff from say Bud, Coors, Miller which is meant to appeal to more people than some of the 'specialty' beers!. So, before you think that beer is bad, try a few diferent types!. Some are strong, some are weak, some taste like bud, some taste like pepsi!.
In the end, beer is not only a way to keep in touch with history (people have been drinking beer for thousands of years) but also to drink socially without getting drunk with all the effort of just poping a can open or cracking open a cap!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Think of the logical explanations of why one would drink alcohol!. Of which may or may not be, depending on one's personal preference a reason why they like alcohol!.

Because it is the greatest drink known to man!.!.!. Taste great, smells great (granted it is an aquired taste and smell) and it just makes you feel better about everything!. Bad day at work just put a few back!. You don't have to get drunk to feel the effect!. Its just great stuff!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I prefer beer to wine, I don't drink a lot, (I drank enough when I was younger to last me for a long while), now it's about 2 beers a year!!! but those two beers, they taste good! When you feel like a beer nothing else can replace it, a good cold beer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
