Sam Adams Utopias???!
Has anyone ever had Sam Adams Utopias!. I want to try it but I just can't bring myself to pay $600, for one bottle!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

IMO it's scarcely even 'worth' its $99!.99 original retail price but that's just me!. Some people swear on their lives that it's liquid gold, no doubt it has value given the time and effort going in to it, but $600 is far more than I feel any sane person should pay for it!. For that kind of money you could easily get 100 other highly acclaimed and rare beers!.
Then again for $100-600 you could get a pool together and have a tasting on the bottle which will offset the brutal cost!. I'd say it's worth maybe $20 to try it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have not had the opportunity to try Utopias yet, but I second what Alesmith said about splitting a bottle (4-6 ways is probably the best way to go)!. Since an open bottle will not stay good for too long, it's best to be consumed the day it is opened!.
I've heard occurrences of specialty beer bars serving Utopias; they pour it in a special Utopias glass in 4 oz servings!. This is probably a rare find, but it would be a great way to sample it, even if it puts you back $15 of so!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I recently heard of this "beer," even though it's more of a liquor I think!. I've never tried it but have talked to someone who has, and he said he thinks it's worth the price!. It's different strokes for different folks, but if you have the means to do it, it maybe worth trying!. Or maybe go in with some friends and split the cost so you'll know whether or not you like it before you shell out the cost for your own bottle!.

My buddy bought 2 bottles of the stuff!. He is keeping one sealed and we shared the other one!. Trust me, it is good, but not worth the 175!.00 each that he paid for them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
