Where's the Rum?!
I've never had vodka or tequila or any hard liquor before but i decided to just try a straight shot of Bacardi 151 (i know you're suppose to mix it lol) and man was it potent!. How strong is vodka and tequila compared to this!? It's not stronger is it!?

Anyways, vodka/tequila is usually 80 proof, so about 1/2 as powerful as what you did!. Rum is usually 70 proof, the Bacardi 151 is more of a quick way to get drunk, but its supposed to be used in flame applications (anything over 100 proof catches fire easy), for show mainly!.
Lots of flavored vodkas are 70 proof, though!. Jager is 70 proof as well!. Some rums are higher (Sailor Jerry is 92)!. Whisky is mostly 80 proof, though some are "cask strength" such as Wild Turkey 101!.
The only thing more powerful than Bacardi 151 is Everclear (available as 190 proof)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Don't look at Bacardi 151 as rum, it really doesn't taste much like a good rum at all and is significantly more potent in alcoholic content!.
A standard (80 proof, 40%) rum will burn significantly less and have a much better flavour!.
Tequila will depend on what you get, cheap tequila will burn in a similar way to the 151, but a quality tequila (look for one that says 100% agave) will be much smoother but will still burn if drank straight until you are used to it!.
