60 Units of Alcohol Per Week - Question for Drinkers ONLY !!!?!

Question: 60 Units of Alcohol Per Week - Question for Drinkers ONLY !!!!?
We keep reading "You musn't drink more than 21 units, you musn't do this, that and the other" BUT !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

Does anyone have the same drinking habit as us!?

And do you worry about all these reports and guidlines we're meant to follow !?

By the way, we very rarely binge drink!. & We both work full-time and have no problems carrying on with our day-to-day lives!. & Never drink before 5:00 in the afternoon!. We are both fit, do sport and have been drinking like this for over 10 years now with no illnesses, and thumbs up from doctors at checkups!.

This is an average week !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

Mon - Thurs night have 4 cans of beer
(Approx 8 units per night, total mon - thurs = 32 units)

Fri - sun , we share 2 bottles of wine
(Approx 9 units in a bottle, therefore fri - sun total = 27 units)

Therefore on average I have approx 60 units per week!.

How about everyone else!? Do you really stick to 14/21 units per week!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I'm probably at about 75 units a week, it affects nothing I do, and I don't drink to get drunk!.

Sounds fine to me, you don't drink before 5p!.m!., you're perfectly healthy!.!.!.there's no problem, the damn 'Nanny State' is the problem!

I think I average 6 to 8 units on weekday evenings, and 8 to 12 units at weekends, so this works out very much the same as what you are saying!.
I usually eat with meals, after 6PM, have no real need for alcohol during the day or at work and very rarely suffer a hangover!. I am very healthy, and although some people might tell me I could suddenly drop down dead, as far as I know, no tee-total individuals have proved to be immortal to date :-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't really drink at all (maybe 60 units\ year) but my boyfriend drinks about the same as you and it causes us no problems!. He's got a good job and is rarely ill!. I think he feels very guilty sometimes because according to the government he is practically an alcoholic!. But he quit drinking for a month just to see if he could and he did no problem!. I think he just likes the taste of it!. If we all did as we were told, we'd never do anything at all! :-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

one binge that , not even a binge !. Then I don't drink for months , worse than regular drinking apparently , this weekend I am on one it will last until wednesday / thursday , polish that off easy !. You are doing well !. Don't spill any , you might get an application for the temperance movement!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I dont pay any attention to health recomendations!. 3 bottles of wine in a weekend!. What you drink seems fine, allegedly drinking a small amount through the week is better for you than drinking lots at the weekendWww@FoodAQ@Com

Two glasses of wine or a Pint of Lager is Binge Drinking by Government definition

As long as Alcohol doest affect your work , family , friends or get you in trouble with the police you should be fineWww@FoodAQ@Com

I try not to read all that stuff as you think to yourself if i stick to that i can't really regularly drink!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ohh 21 units per week!?!? i thought it was 21 per day!. I have been drinking about 30 units a day for the last 20 years!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

That's moderate!. I have about four beers in the evening after work every day, more on the weekends!. Have for years!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try stopping for a month or two if you can''t then you have a problem!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

UNITS!? Who talks like that!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

i drink a 12 pack of beer a dayWww@FoodAQ@Com

lol, I drink that in 10 mins!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

HA! lol, I drink about 100 units a weekend!. My pee alone is 14/21 units!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think you are a little worried about it to have asked the question!. You may have been drinking like this for ten years but in ten years time things may be very different!. I am at the age now where I remember people I knew 30 years ago who seemed to be able to do this who are not here any more!. Sorry to be blunt!. What is even sadder is ones that are still here look so awful and have such an awful life!. Have a good think about it and see if you could cut down a little, you can still enjoy yourself!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

there are very few peole who drink within the 'guidelines'!. Every one's body is different & copes with different things in it's own way!.!.There are people out there who drink 2-3 units occasionally & their bodies do not cope with it very well, in addition some one who drinks 2-3 units daily, their bodies cope with it no worries!. It is a known fact that 'binge drinking' is worse for you than drinking on a daily basis, whether that be heavy or not!.!.!.!.!.I think you are lucky to have lasted 10 years drinking this amount on a daily basis!. But like I have said your body is different to the nextWww@FoodAQ@Com

Drinking at the rate you claim would pose a serious risk of long term liver damage - you may not see the effects now but you will almost certainly see them as you age in terms of liver damage, reduced immune system, risk of certain cancers etc!.

That said - it's up to you to drink as you see fit provided you are not endangering others - we don;t need to be nannied by the Government!.

My only question would be why drink so much!? A bottle of wine per night three nights in a row seems rather a lot!. Are you drinking for the taste, effect or habit!. How about a couple of nights per week on soft drinks instead!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Mon - about 3 bottles of Corona (long neck)

Tue - Cranberry and Vodka (from Sweden!.!.yum!)!.!.!.about a half- gallon worth

Wed - Hennessay (straight) with ice - 3 cups

Thurs!. - A bottle of Mosacto, and two bottles of those Smirnoff raw ice teas

Fri!. - One budda of Saki!. Then a six pack of Coronas

Sat!. - Vodka and red bull (before the club), when I get to the club, a shot of gold Jose and a Long Island Ice Tea, break for a cup of water and some lemon pepper wings!. Then alternate between Coronas and vodka w/ cranberry juice

Sun - Water and sleepWww@FoodAQ@Com
