2 years!.!.!. a current release Bordeaux will need more time!. Look at red Burgundies (old world Pinot) or a mid range Chateauneuf du Pape (Grenache/Syrah/etc, there are 13 legal varieties)!.
The thing is, by looking at nicer stuff, you are looking at wines that will need more time, in many cases!. Your best bet is to look for something on the lighter side!. The tannic structure of Bordeaux's wines and high end California Cabernet is normally best when left alone for 5-7 years!. Good vintages can take even longer!
P!.S!. - Bordello = Brothel!. You're most likely thinking of Brunello, an Italian wine that needs some age as well!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you stay with a California wine, go with the up-scale reds like a Cabernet or Shiraz/Syrah or a blend of the two!. Both have a reasonable storage life and in some cases, the Cabernets are better than the French reds with age!.
Try to keep the temperature stable and in the dark!. Some people swear that it must be kept at 60 degrees to be good, but, I was at a tasting in Atlanta and Alexis Lechine was the guest of honor!. He was asked what he thought was the best wine he had ever drank!. He said the one he remember most was one that was kept behind the cook stove in a French farm house!. It had been there for some time and the temperature hadn't varied much at all!. Of course it was around 95 degrees back there but it was stable!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Any wine that you buy now will be good to drink in two years as long as you do not open the bottle, and store it in a cool place!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
