Ew! It would look like they were a kid drinking Kool-Aid or something! Wine is not made to drink through a straw!. If you want a drink you can sip through a straw, order a mixed soda drink or a juice box!Www@FoodAQ@Com
I've not seen one person ever drink wine with a straw, exceptions being a paraplegic who needed some assistance, and sangria's over ice!. I could see it if the wine was served over rocks, but straight in a wine glass!? Tacky!.
And if someone consumed the wine rather quickly with a straw (as with all alcohol) their blood alcohol content (b!.a!.c!.) would rise rather quickly!. Unless they sipped it!. But still tacky!.

I am a restaurant manager and a bartender so far I have not ever seen anyone drink wine with a straw, however if they are paying for it I could care less what they do with it as long as it is not being dumped on my floor or used in any other destructive way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Maybe they are afraid of getting a winestache, I'd say that is pretty tacky, I tend bar and I can say I've never seen that, if I did, I'd Say what the h** are you doing, or would you like that in a mug!? and see how they respondWww@FoodAQ@Com
