Ordering a med drink in the UK?!
I am an American and heard a story on the BBC today that seemed odd to me!.
The focus of the story was government attempts to curb drinking!. However, my question was more in regard to how you order a drink!.
When you order a drink in a bar (say a gin and tonic)!. Do you actually say how much gin you want in the drink!? In the US, I just ask for a gin and tonic and I will normally get 1 jigger of gin in the drink (1!.5 ounces)!. Every once in a while people will order a Double BUT 95% of the time we just ask for the drink with no reference to how much booze will be going into the drink!.
Can somebody from the UK clarify this!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
