Answers:
Beer is skunked when it is exposed to light!. Without totally nerding out on you basically what goes down is that UV light degrades a specific (and volatile) compound in the beer in to a sulfur compound!. It's pretty much the exact same thing coming out of a skunk but it's not something to get weirded out by, it's rather common in nature!.

If you really want to get down to it look in to iso-alpha acid degradation and 3-methyl-2-butene-1-thiol!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The hops degrade when exsposed to light or the beer is abused in some other way!. Stuff in clear bottles or green bottles is more suceptable than stuff in brown bottles!. Age is a factor too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Bottled beer needs to be kept refrigerated - and you can't keep it around for awhile after it's been opened!. Next time you have "extra" beer, add it to stew or chili:)Www@FoodAQ@Com

its gone stale!. The grain that is used in the beer has staled and has now caused the skunk like smell!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

build up ur tolerance to itWww@FoodAQ@Com
