*shudders at Little Penguin and Yellow Tail* Sorry I know everyone has their own tastes but there is something to be said in the quality of the red that you are drinking!.
My preference is Shiraz, I love the pepperriness that it can sometimes have depending on where it is grown!. I would have to say that I am partial to Henschke, Grant Burge and Wirra Wirra's Scrubby Rise for value for money!. I also like the cool climate wines of Clonakilla, just outside of Canberra!.
Sadly right now I can't think of any stand out Hunter region wines which is ironic as I work out there each weekend!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Fort Mahoning Red from Windgate Winery!. I usually like their Amish Country Red, but the last one had a VERY nasty after taste!.
I love the Merlot and Blackberry Merlot from Lambert's Vintage Wines!. His Cabernet is nice and smooth, too!. Right now, he has an AWESOME spiced wine!. I can't wait for Christmas, when I can warm it up and re----- lax!. **sigh**Www@FoodAQ@Com

J!.Lohr totally tops my list too!.!.!.as far as 'affordable' reds go!. If you ever have an extra $100 or so laying around (lol), try Silver Oak!.!.!.it's mighty tasty!. Lindemans Bin 56 (also Australian) isn't bad for a lower priced wine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Opus One 2001, and RIP, Mr!. Mondavi!. It's just as beautiful as wine gets!. More often, perhaps, Paul Hobbs Russian River Pinot Noir or Bourgeil-Breton Cab Franc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Yes definitley Cabernet as well!.
Couldn't possibly give a brand though!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

All wines are the same!. There is no difference between then €5 a litre and the French 1930s/40s era wine!. It's all your opinion and it's all in your mind!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
