What to do if you want to go out and drink with a friend but you need to drive back at some point?!
i would never drink and drive,so if i wanted to go out and have some drinks with a friend or two, how would we do it so we can eventually get back home!? should we stop drinking 2 hours before going home!? make sure one has less to drink !? or is a taxi the best idea!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

1!. Drive and stop drinking far in advance and avoid getting drunk!. (not my favorite, for obvious reasons)
2!. Get rides or taxis
3!. Drive there, get a taxi home, and get a ride to pick up car the next day at some point!.

Gee, do you even have to ask!? Use a cab to & from!. Alcohol stays in the body for a while, so stopping two hours before going home will not deplete the alcohol from your body!. I wonder why people think they have to drink to have a good time!. Drinking sodas, teas, etc!. will still enable people to have a good time & there's NO cab fare to worry about!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it's my night, I drink until about midnight (don't slam them back, just drink as usual)!. At midnight, I cut myself off and start drinking LOTS of tonic and lime!.
We usually go to an after-hours bar, so by 3:00 or 4:00 am, I'm sober as a judge and ready to drive the party home!.
If for some reason all of us are past out limit, we're lucky enough to live in Houston, where we have a program that allows us to get a cab home free of charge, and we just have to get ourselves back to our car the next day!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

2!. Near end of the month

A taxi is always the best option if you do not have a sober friend!. We usually designate a driver but if you all have to party you should all pitch in for cab fare!. That's giving up one shot each!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Taxi!. The waiting 2 hours thing would be ok if you had a breathalyzer but there is no way to know if you are under the legal limit or not!. I like going to bars around my house and walking!Www@FoodAQ@Com

A cab!. Or rope a friend into being a designated driver!. Some bars will give DDs free soda all night long if the person tells the bartender that he's the designated for the night!.
also, I know in my area some bars have a service called Annie's Taxi!. Its a free taxi that will drive you home when you're drunk!. I'm sure it's called different things in different areas so you'd have to ask around!.
Some places have a "Home Jeeves" type service, where you call them and a guy in a little motorized scooter shows up!. The motorized scooter can fold and fit in your trunk, so he can drive you and your car home!.
