I like white wine better than red.?!
But in truth, I don't know much about wine at all!. Maybe I could learn to like red and not be afraid of it being astringent or giving me a headache (but white never does that to me)!. Can someone recommend a good resource to learn about wine!? A book, or, maybe something on the web!? I live in New York City, so if anyone knows maybe a wine store or some such place that offers tastings for beginners that would be great!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My favorite wine book is The Window's of the World Wine Course !.!.!. it's heavily compiled by the sommeliers from the Window of the World's restaurant that was on top of the World Trade Center, and while it has a ton of information for advance tasters, it's got a lot of great terminology and learning experiences for the new wine drinker!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You can find a lot of information on the internet!. Just search around, check out Wikipedia and google and the like!. Once you have some basic ideas you could then try going to a wine sampling place!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I honestly suggest "Wine for Dummies!." It's a great book that puts even the astringency you are referring to in simple English!. It's the first wine book I read!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
