What is a "Crisp Lager"?!

Question: What is a "Crisp Lager"!?
I've been asked to bring a "crisp lager" to a cookout!. Can anyone make suggestions as to what this consists of!? I have a case of Heineken on hand but I have a feeling that won't cut it!. I'm not that big of a beer drinker so my knowledge is rather limited in this domain!. Could anyone please make a suggestion!?

Many thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

A good crisp lager that isn't light on hops or alcohol is Sam Adams Imperial pilsener!. If you don't like massive hops in taste and aroma in your beer then I would tend to go towards a Maibock which are typically found plentiful this time of year!. Heiniken is great too!

Lagers are usually more crisp than an ale because of the fermentation process and the yeast strains that are used!. As mentioned before Lagers ferment on the bottom, at a lower temperature (34 -42 degrees) for a longer period of time (typically 4-6 wks)!. Ales ferment on the top, at a higher temp (60-70 degrees) and for a shorter period (5-10 days)!.

Hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com

A crisp lager isn't necessarily a specific type of lager!.!.!. what it is is one that is light and refreshing!. Not heavy and full bodied!. I personally don't like Heineken, but it does fit the bill!. I would have gone with (if I was looking in the low to middle price range like Heine) with Sam Adams or even Grolsch*!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
