I visited a wine shop in the heart of Portland and they were sampeling their own Sangria and it was delicious! In Spain they serve Sangria made with red wine but Americans started making it with white wine as well!.
1 (750 ml) bottle red wine (cheap spanish or table wine works great)
3/4 cup white rum
1/2 cup whiskey (sweeter the better)
1/4 cup triple sec
1/2-3/4 liter lime flavored seltzer water or Sprite (if you use Sorite then only use 1/2 to 2/4 cup sugar)
1 cup sugar
1/2 lemon
1/2 orange
I make a basic one at home that is made up of whatever wine I have on hand and lots' of chopped fruit, rum, sugar, and 7up or sprite!. I taste as I go and add what I wantI soak it in the fridge overnight before serving over ice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
