Answers:
depends!.!.!.what kind of red!?

Personally I like to use lalvin ec-1118!.

It's a champagne yeast!. it's got a pretty good tolerance to alcohol so your gonna have some pretty strong or dry wine!.

it's also pretty quick to ferment and settles out nice with low fusel alcohols/oils!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've always had good luck using the dry Red Star Wine yeasts!. Their Montrachet or Pasteur Red would be a good bet!.

Lalvin brand dry yeasts also tend to work well!. Their Bourgovin would be good for making a red wine!.

Wyeast makes a wet wine yeast you can use!. I've never used it because it costs more and dry yeast is so worry free and easy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I use mostly Montrachet but champagne yeast runs a close second!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
