Answers:
the reason that you have tasted some crappy fine wine from time to time is that if you are buying a wine from a particular grape and a particular year then it will obviously vary from year to year and the taste will vary!. most wines that you buy are blends which should be consistant!. if you buy blue nun or leibfraumilch it will taste the same from year to year as it has been specially blended just like most whiskeys!. just experiment with different wines until you find one that you like and stay with that for reds, whites and rose, everyones palete is differentWww@FoodAQ@Com

You can tell a cheap wine from an expensive one by reading the price tag!.

You can tell a good wine from cat's pee (I have to admit I don't know what that tastes like) by tasting it!.

The thing you must remember is your taste buds can not read the price tag and your retina can not detect flavors!.

The same is true of audio equipment, your ears can't read the specs and your eyes can't hear the music!.

Buy what you like and let the guys with their noses' in the air waste their money on cat pee!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have been to wine shops a purchased a case of German white wine by the case for 3 dollars a bottle and it was the best German white wine that my German friend, ever had!. So cheap wine is not always the worst!. We have had many wine that were supposed to be high end and fell way short of their hype!. It all depends on how the wine is bottled, how it was corked, how it was stored, and at what temp!. If a wine bottle sit for a while it needs to be turned!. Keep ut of high temp and sun light!. also look at the sulfate content, year and vineyard!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Tasting wine is like listening to music, whilst most people can recognize classic from rock, very few would be able to distinguish between composers of the same era!. Those who do can do it because they've learnt it through study and practice!. In the same way you're able to differentiate between vinegar and wine, but probably find harder between similar grape wines that people with a trained 'nose' feel are miles apart in taste!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Expecting replies !?

What's a wine expert !? Why did he give you !?

Just one thing - everybody ( and I too ) make a very common error : open the bottle and drink it immediately - in all cases the bottle should be opened two hours before, let's not talk about decanting, re-oxygenize then be drunken -

This detail can make huge differences, mainly on high ranges of wines -

i'm sure now you're satisfied!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I once did a blind taste test administered by friends, 1 wine was very cheap, 1 was moderate and the last was very expensive!.

I chose the moderate wine as my favorite!

One of my friends was highly offended that I didn't choose the most expensive as my favorite!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is all a question of taste, I like a sweet white wine, I don 't care if it is expensive or cheap, if I like it that is all that mattersWww@FoodAQ@Com

you can't tell an expensive wine from a cheap - just a good one from a bad!. Cost has nothing to do with it!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

its trial &error go to a wine bar ask bar staff for most asked drink try it then go one aboveWww@FoodAQ@Com
