Question: Would I be able to sell a home brewed alcohol online!?
I have a family recipe of a mixed alcohol drink that they don't serve in bars, would I be able to make it and sell it online!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
No!.
First off, you must be a licensed producer with tax id and all appropriate licenses from your state liquor control board, TTB, etc!.
Second, you cannot sell a mixed drink that uses liquor of other manufacturers, even if you are a licensed manufacturer or distributor!.
Third, to sell online, you also need to hold a license for inter-state sale of alcoholic beverages, which essentially means you must hold a license in every state you plan to ship to!.
Fourth, as far as shipping goes, you cannot ship booze through USPS, FedEx, UPS and many others!. Specially licensed alcohol shippers are the only legal way to go, and they are pricey!.

As far as the underage thing goes, these shippers require a signature and proof of age upon delivery, or the package will not be left, but that is negligible in this case!.

Nice idea, though!.

No, the second you start selling it you need a license and tax ID regardless of the amount!. You can give it away all you wish!.!.!. just don't sell it!.

"Fourth, as far as shipping goes, you cannot ship booze through USPS, FedEx, UPS and many others!."

Jpie, I don't often disagree with you, but in this case you are a little wrong!. You can obtain special licensing from some of these shippers for alcohol!. The rest of what you said is spot on!.!.!. But I know a few online retailers that use UPS to ship there products!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This is not a good idea! It is illegal to mail alcohol which is only way to transport to buyers!. Please only do this by word of mouth in your area!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

doubtfully how would you know if they were 21 or older anyone can fake it or have their parents license so I do not think you will be approved for your sales licenseWww@FoodAQ@Com

No because you must pay a tax!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
