At what age can i buy alcohol in supermarkets like asda?!

Question: At what age can i buy alcohol in supermarkets like asda!?
or the off licencesWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Bit of confusion here!.
In the UK you have to be 18 years old but most shops have a ID scheme where they will ID you if you look under 21 or in some cases 25!.
You DO NOT have to be 21 or 25 to buy alcohol, they just ID people who look under 25 as a precaution! As long as you carry acceptable ID (passport or drivers licence are your safest bet) and are 18+ you will be fine!.
happy shopping ;)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sorry but both the first answers that you received are wrong!. The age limit now is 25!. The government has brought this rule in to stop people binge drinking, as kids at the minute are drinking from the age of 13!. I work at Asdas and we all had to read a memo and sign it!. This is because if you are caught serving anybody under the age of25 (the government are sending in under cover people), then you are sacked!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Legally it is 18 everywhere in the UK!.

ASDA operate a policy of asking for ID if you look under 25, but if you can prove you are are 18 and above then they'll sell it to you!.

If you don't have acceptable ID then any shop may refuse to sell to you to protect their licenceWww@FoodAQ@Com

in the uk it is 18!. but if you have no id, u must look at least 21 or maybe 25! (especially in supermarkets)
also to the person above u do not have to be 25 to buy alcohol! you need id to prove u are 18, or have to look 25!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm 23, have a beard and ocasionally, I still get asked for ID, depends on whether the clerk is an asshole or not!! and yeah 18 in the uk and IrelandWww@FoodAQ@Com

You need to be 21 and have legal identity to purchase alcohol!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

21!.!.!.duhWww@FoodAQ@Com

depends on where you live!. i'm from Michigan, and its 21 here!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

depends where you are from - if you are in the UK then it's 18Www@FoodAQ@Com
