i make beer and wine and wine is much easier!. just get yourself a starter kit (carboy, hydrometer, airlock, etc!.!.!.) that you can get at any home brew shop or on-line!. I prefer midwestsupplies!.com!. I would recommend starting out with a kit!. It will have everything you need in it and it produces a very good tasting wine with very detailed instructions that is basically just a step by step of what to add and when and then stir and wait!. It is alot of hurry up and wait!. But the most important thing is sanitize everything it is very easy to do but very important!. good luck you will enjoy it!. i started as a hobby and it has blown into an obsession!. right now i have a green apple riesling in primary, bourbon porter in primary, maple dark ale in primary and a scotch ale in secondary!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I have done some experimenting in this regard, and by accident made a wine of sorts from fermented grapes!. It was rather like a vinegar than a wine, and became better after some distilling which turned it in to a wine spirit though!. The I found that making a home brew beer more easy!. Africans drink a brew made from fermenting corn and sugar and water and yeast, which was quite easy in comparison to grapes!.!.!.
Should you try this I recommend that you use distilled water and very clean cloths for a sieve!. also try to seal off the containers from the air in the kitchen to avoid strange bacteria entering your brew!. If all else fails, make a simple distiller from a saucepan and lid and boil the stuff!.!.!.
Good luck!.
By the way, its a messy business!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Piece of cake!. Much easier than brewing beer!. You can also get by with relatively little equipment!. Get yourself a book by Berry!. He has several that are designed for the first-time vintner and a few pretty decent recipes!. I'm especially fond of his lemon wine!. Some people prefer his potato wine!. A friend of mine, who is a chef, saves the water from boiling potatoes to make the wine!.
Just remember, the three most important things in wine-making are sanitation, sanitation, and sanitation!.
If there is a homebrew shop near you, you can get all the equipment you need, plus good advice, there!. If not, go to the website for Winemaker Magazine and click on their list of advertisers!. It has links to their catalogs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
