I have tasted hundreds of wines ranging in price from $2!.99 to over $100 a bottle!. Generally, more expensive wines have more complexity than cheaper wines!. This means that they are not simple tasting, but have many flavors that you can detect (blueberries, tar, smoke, and a touch of oak, for example)!. Cheaper wines tend to be more one-dimensional in flavor, meaning that they taste simple (tart cherry flavor, for example)!. This is not always true, since there are cheap wines that have still not made a name for themselves and they are good!. As soon as they are discovered the price goes through the roof!. You may be lucky enough to pick up an $8!.99 bottle of wine that is fantastic-too good to be true for the price!. Then six weeks later that same bottle sells for $24!.99!. I've seen it happen!.
I've also tasted expensive wines that were pricey only because they came from a prestigious region, but the wine itself was mediocre!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not true!. Expensive wines are exclusive and rare, hence the price!. Often they are of great taste, but I've had plenty of inexpensive and mid-range wines in my day that were fantastic!. And I've had some very high end wines I didn't care for!. In shopping for wine you need to go by your preference and your budget, the price tag alone isn't good enough!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I think it's a matter of personal taste!.
Vintage wines are more expensive because, to a wine lover, they supposedly tastes better!. Plus, they are more rare!. I have found this to be the case with red wine, but not with white wine!. Younger white wines are just as tasty as the older ones!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not necessarily true!. There's a liquor store chain in Calif that is having a 90 point wine (rated by expert taste testers!. scale of 0 to 100) sale for under $20/bottle!. Take a look!.

Not necessarily!. Blind taste taste prove this!. However, people tend to say the more expensive ones taste better if they are told before beforehand which are more expensive!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I think it's mostly based on personal taste!. I've had quite a few wine connoisseurs tell me they have found some incredible wines for a very low price!! I'm not so picky, so cheaper is better for my wallet! HA!Www@FoodAQ@Com
In my experience, that is the case!. Sad but true!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
