I make sangria for my poker night!. It is a bunch of middle aged moms!.
I take a carafe of Paul Mason wine (actually found it to be the best after buying more expensive ones), 1/2 bottle of sprite, 1/2 cup sugar, fruit (lemons, limes, apples, oranges, strawberries etc)
In a pinch I used frozen fruit with the peaches and melons and it was great!. You can omit the sprite but I didnt want anyone getting loopy and accusing me of taking their money that way!Www@FoodAQ@Com

WE made Sangria the other day and just used the fruits, no other alcohol except the wine!. We cooled it overnight and drank it the next day!. It was sweet and very good!.
For one bottle wine we used 1 apple, 1 orange, 1 lime 1 lemon, grapes and a pear!. I'm sure had there of been different kinds of fruit available we would have stuck some of it in there too!.
I cant remember the kind of wine we used but probably a Merlot or a MelbacWww@FoodAQ@Com

If you can't get cointreau, curacau, or triple sec, try zesting oranges and soak them (the zests) in vodka for a week or so to extract the flavoring!. If you can get bitter oranges, the taste will be more authentic but not necessarily better!. Bump the fruit juice content up to compensate!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Triple Sec is cheaper and it's an orange flavored liquor!. It's not as tasty as cointreau or grand marnier, but it should do the trick!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
