Question: Question about beer!?
Does beer dehydrates !? I was wondering as its mostly water, is it still a diuretic !?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Err!.!.!. It really depends on how much you consume!.

In small amounts beer can be used to hydrate yourself!. It was often used as recently as Colonial America as part of the daily water supply for most people!.!.!. Water sources were often tainted by filth and disease!.

In large amounts beer will dehydrate you!.!.!. or more accurately the ethanol alcohol in the beer will dehydrate you and rob your body of B6 vitamins and potassium!.

Over all, beer is an extremely health drink!.!.!. when used in moderation!. Full of many B12 vitamins (wheat and unfiltered beers mostly), Iron (darker beers), antibiotics and it is even a proven cancer fight!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've heard plenty of people say that it is, but I don't really believe it!. I've gone days befor drinking only coffee(another drink some people say is diuretic) and beer!. And if they both dehydrated me I would have been dead of dehydration, or at least in bad shape!. But I didn't seem to have any problems!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
