Question: Are there white wines that are as heart friendly as reds are supposed to be!? Is white wine with fish a rule!?
or are their acceptable red wines for drinking with fish!? If you have a mechanical aortic valve is wine safe to drink as opposed to whiskey or beer!?I've gotten into herbal tea and am almost off caffine and have been reading about the bens of red wine!. I seriously love fish but I'm a newbee when it comes to wine!. Any help!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

According to my husband's cardiolisgist the red wines to the trick but white wines are not helpful to the hear!.
As far as fish and chicken goes when it comes to red vs white, the wite should win but if you don't mind the flavor of fish and chicken with red wine, go for it!.

Today, Reds are acceptable with fish!. It comes down to your personal preference/taste!. One concerderation often over-looked when pairing food & wine is an entree's sauce!. A white fish with a hearty sauce (say a sun-dried tom butter for example) would pair well with a red!.

Reds have an edge on the health benefit issue over whites!. But in moderation (2/day) any alcoholic beverage has health benefits!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Years ago, it used to be red with beef, white with poultry and fish!. In our modern times, you are now allowed to drink what you like with your meal, without worrying about what wine goes with what food!.

I'm a huge fan of chardonnay (white) and I don't care for the red!. I don't know about the benefits of either wrt your situation!. Have you asked your cardiologist!? S/he will have the best answer as to your alcohol consumption!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I dont know about your other questions but as for food pairing, its really what you season your fish with!. Red and whites can go with fish!. its all on what you prefer and what you think tastes good!. Everyone has a different palate, so experiment!. White wine is almost as health as red!.!.!. you get all the heart benefits and some of the antioxidants!. As far as food pairings go!.!.!. White with fish/chicken, Red with beef/etc!. is only a rule of thumb!. Any wine expert worth his salt will tell you to drink what tastes good to you!. Small amounts of wine, beer and even whiskey are fine with an aortic valve problem!.!.!. Excessive amounts aren't!. Beer is actually better for you than any of the others!.!.!. Real beer, not that mass produced corn water stuff they like to call beer!.
