Vodka- potatoes, or grain depending what country it is from
Tequilla is made from the Agave cactus not just any cactus
Gin- Juniper berries
Sloe Gin- Sloe Berries
Wine can be made from just about anything organic
Brandy is distilled wine!. Everyone else said grapes which essentially is correct but you can't distill a grape!.!. it has to ferment first which gives you wine of course!.
Cognac is brandy that is distilled in Cognac France from wine fermented in Cognac France!. If it from anywhere else it is called Brandy
Same with Champagne- If it is not from the Champagne
Region of France you can't call it Champagne!.
