Answers:
If you use the same recipe time after time!.!.!. as the Monks and every other brewery does the sugar content and alcohol content are more or less the same each time it is brewed!. Random checks are done using a thermohydrometer to measure sugar content or Final Gravity!. The FG measurement is then converted into ABV!.!.!. I don't know how exactly!.!.!. my hydrometer has the conversions right on the side!. As far as variances from bottle to bottle go!.!.!. next to nothing, maybe a few tenths of a percent!. From batch to batch you may achieve a percentage point at most!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Take specific gravity at the start (OG) and end (FG) of fermentation!.OG-FG x 105 = ABW (Alcohol by weight) ABW x 1!.25 = ABV (Alcohol by volume)!.

If you make your measurements before priming, the figures will be a tiny bit off, not enough to worry about!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They just take samples from random bottles that have been under the same conditions!. The sugar limits how much alchohol can be in a beer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have heard it can vary 1-2% depending on a lot of things!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
