What is the most quentessential of Brittish cocktails or mixed drinks?!

Question: What is the most quentessential of Brittish cocktails or mixed drinks!?
I'm thinking a Gin & Tonic or perhaps a Martini, although the Martini is an American invention!.

What's the most British cocktail one can order!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Cocktails are not as commonly drunk in the UK as they are in the US and few pubs would know how to make them!. If you ask for a Martini in 99% of UK pubs you'd get a glass of Martini Vermouth, although large cities do have cocktail bars which would serve the entire range of American style cocktails and restuarant chains like TGIFs are wel known for their cocktails!.

The quintissential cocktails & mixed drinks

* Gin & Tonic - created to disguise taste of quinine
* Snowball - Advocaat, dash lime juice, top up with sparkling lemonade e!.g!. 7-Up
* Whisky Mac - Scotch whisky and Ginger Wine
* Buck's Fizz - Champagne and orange juice
* Black Velvet - Champagne & Guiness
* VAT - Vodka & tonic
* Port and Lemon - Port with lemon cordial

But perhaps the most common alcoholic mixed drinks in pubs are Shandy, Lager Top and Lager & Lime

Shandy is half beer / half sparkling lemonade e!.g!. 7-Up
Lager Top is lager with a large dash of sparkling lemonade e!.g!. 7-Up
Lager & Lime is lager with dash of lime juice (e!.g!. Roses sweetened lime juice)

Lady who says 'warm beer' obviously has either never been to a pub in Britain or doesn't understand that British beers are meant to be savored for their flavor and should be served at cellar temperature i!.e!. cool not freezing in order to taste it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
