I am a beer brewer, reviewer, and basically, a snob!. In the brewing world, Bud, Miller, Coors, and just about anything that comes in a can is considered "macro lager!." Macro lager is considered by many not to be true beer because it is made with rice, not barley! But be careful for faux-micro breweries as well like Fat Tire or Widmer!.
The biggest breweries that actually make beer are Sam Adams and Sierra Nevada!. These breweries have a passion for quality that is unusual for large breweries!.
There is one macro-lager that I do drink regularly (although I do not consider this beer!)!.!.!.Corona with a slice of lime!. The only others I can recommend without a completely guilty conscience are Dos Equis, Newcastle, and Heineken!. Other than that, the best micro-brewed Ales are found almost exclusively in liquor stores and always in wine-sized bottles!. Beer ages better in these!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It all depends on the style!. My brother works at Port/Lost Abbey and gets beer from there and my good friend brews at Oceanside Ale works and will bring me beer from there!. I live 15 minutes from Port/Lost Abbey, Stone and Alesmith!. There is a liquor store that carries 50 breweries about 3 miles from my house!. I've even started to mess around with some home brewing!. I guess when it comes to beer you could say I'm pretty spoiled!. I would be hard pressed to pick one favorite!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I really like to taste micro brews, but my favorite mas distributed beer has got to be NewCastle!. And I'm a real fan of the local Kalik beer in the BahamasWww@FoodAQ@Com
