Please help me. Will I become an alcoholic? I'm addicted but I need it..?!

Question: Please help me!. Will I become an alcoholic!? I'm addicted but I need it!.!.!?
I have a tendency to avoid people!.

Find it hard to function in small groups but have been praised for addressing crowds of hundreds of people!. (good public speaker)

Have been labelled as silent, quiet and withdrawn!.

Rarely take the initiative to start up a conversation with a "stranger" but extremely friendly later on!.

Extremely shy to talk to a person at first but as time passes and get used to talking to that person I become more and more comfortable!.

Extremely good at my profession, excellent in sports!.

A couple of drinks makes me feel so good!. People love me, I talk a lot, dance well, socialize like a pro basically!. In summary people think i'm a new person all together and not the shy person I am when i'm sober!. I love the reviews I get when I'm high!. I used to drink only at parties but now I wanna do it all the time!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Be careful with alcohol, is dangerous as any other drug!. Look for cognitive therapy or counseling!. It is OK to be shy, is part of your personality, accept your true self !. You say you have a tendency to avoid people, try to avoid alcohol!. You are friendly without the alcohol!. People who really love you, love you sober!. You see, alcohol is really tricky, is playing with your mind already!. You get positive reviews from people who want to drink with you, because they do not want to get high alone, is very common!. Be really careful, the negative effects of alcohol are progressive, it may take some years before you start noticing some mental fog and memory loss, that is going to affect your excellent performance at your profession!. Do not avoid yourself, your shyness, with alcohol!. Just take care of your shyness!. The mind and alcohol is very tricky, shyness could be just an excuse for drinking, so be careful!. I could say: I drink because I am afraid of gangsters, and I drink to feel comfortable socializing with them!. Sorry if I am being too drastic about it, but your future, your health and your happiness are in jeopardy!. I know alcohol is great if you can find the right time, the right place, the right amount, and the right people!. For me; is celebration, at a safety place, a drink per hour (some people spend hours at starbucks with a single cup of coffee), with people I really enjoy and love without the alcohol!. But you define your own "Right" Take care!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You sound alot like me!.!.!. I think it is usually easier to speak in a larger setting rather than smaller because smaller groups tend to be more personal!. I am shy as well but the minute I start downing the drinks I feel like am somebody else!. Alcohol has the propensity to lower your inhibition, therefore making you less shy!. As far as you having a drinking problem!.!.!?!?!?!.!.!.here's a website that gives a checklist!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Believe it or not alcohol does that for a lot of people!. it makes us a lot less shy and suddenly capable of being very social when normally we would not be!.
You need to learn to be social without alcohol though its important you dont depend on it!. because lets face it you cant be drunk all the time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

its cool to have a few drinks even if it is every day as long as you can keep control of yourself when you first wake up in the morning and the first thing you think about is finding a drink then you will know that you are an alcoholic but just drinking socialy is all goodWww@FoodAQ@Com

It will begin to take more and more to get you loose and you will begin to have health problems!. You might even kill someone in a wreck and then you can brighten up everyone in jail!. They have medicine that will make you just a sociable!. God Bless!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You are a "social" drinker and it may go out of control!.
Try not to depend on it to be "cool"!.
A good therapist will help you find a better way to do what you do when drunk and get over shyness!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

its just like anything that people do!.you have to know when too much is too much!.always in moderation!.too much of anything is bad for you!.as long as your in control -ROCK ON BROTHER-Www@FoodAQ@Com

sounds pretty normal to me!. Drink responsible!. Don't Drink and Drive!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if you want to over come shyness you should go to counseling, dont be stupid and drink your way throught it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

actualy as you get older and more used tobeing around such environments it will come naturally!. As far as the drinking look to your family tree and see if any have it in the family!. also you can put it down!. Don't worry aobut what others think!. By the way it you can address a crowd then you really don't need the liquor, ultimately you will loosen up and looks like people like lyou either way!. It's like the knight that killed the dragons and used a magic word, when the wizard told him the word wasn't what was doing it and wasn't magic a dragon got him!. so don't make booze your dragon and have a great life!. No Joke!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Part of an addiction is developing an emotional/physical need, so there's no 'but!.' I think that you think you need alcohol!. Drunk makes pretty much everyone more social!. Don't think it's just you, and don't think being drunk is the only way to free you from your shyness!. I know (from experience) that overcoming shyness can be very hard, but that's no reason to take the easy round out!. I'm going to suggest you either see a counselor or go to rehab -- more counselor, than rehab because I don't think you need that bad quite yet!. Um, yeah I think you're going to end up an alcoholic on the road you're traveling because of your unwillingness to put it down!. If you want to be someone else, then do it!. Forget who you are, if only for a moment, and do things you'd never do -- like talking to strangers!. Forget you have fears, and pretend you don't care what you're doing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
