Liquor promoter or "bud girl" if you will question...... READ!?!

Question: Liquor promoter or "bud girl" if you will question!.!.!.!.!.!. READ!!?
I am considering doing liquor promoting on the side as you make quite a bit of cash for just handing out shots and promoting certain beer!.!.!.

Well, my question is!.!.!.!.!. How exactly do you do a RESUME for somehting like that!? I wouldn't think that they would be too concerned with my college education and acheivements if all I am doing is handing out shots!.!.

Any advice on this!? PLEASE!? anyone!? lol =)Www@FoodAQ@Com

i actually do this type of stuff as a second, part-time job!.!.!. it's not glamorous and you WILL get hit on by men that are!.!.!.uhm!.!.!.not of excellent backgrounds, to say the least!. but it IS good extra money!.

as for the resume', take everyone's advice: bring a normal resume'!. some employers in this industry, believe it or not, WILL favor women who:

-are in school/training courses past high school
-do not have a criminal background
-exhibit good manners, people skills and intelligence

the intelligence factor came into play for me, with my boss, because he "doesn't want a bunch of party girls out there drinking what they're intended to be promoting!." in other words, if you're intelligent, you'll know better than to guzzle down the shots instead of handing them out, like you're supposed to!.

don't dress like a skank to your interview, either!. it's not "normal" interview attire-worthy, but definitely don't come in donning a tube top and booty shorts, until you're provided with your uniform!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I did promos for lots of liquor and beer companies for a few years!. The place I went through was an agency, and they had me fill out an application and send it in with 2 pics- a headshot and full body!.

If you are applying some place that does not issue an application, I would suggest putting anything on your resume that is relevant to the job you're seeking- such as modeling experience, waitressing or bartending, or any clubs or event you might be involved in that require public speaking, things like that!.

Good luck- and have a ball!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've considered this before too and a couple of my girlfriends do it!. They do usually ask for a head shot (not anything fancy, any picture is fine) to make sure you have the look they want!. Other than that, your resume shouldn't really be much different than the one you bring to any job!. Be sure to include any activities that show you are outgoing and any experience you have in the restaurant and bar industry!. also, make sure they know you are reliable and WILL SHOW UP!. That is a huge problem in that line of work!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A friend of mine was a Corona Girl!. She wasn't allowed to drink, nor did she want to!. They give you your dresses, you have to be lean and tanned, and be willing to have photos taken of you with random men at liquor store promos and bars!. And you have to dance!. Part of the schtick was to ACT drunk (bartenders would give her Coke with lime so it looked like a rum and Coke), drag men out on the dance floor!. Luckily they had bouncers if you felt in trouble!.

Anyway, standard normal resume, any kind of customer service or people-skills you have!. Obviously dress up, hair, makeup, but not look like a sl**!. They want an outgoing personality to get men to buy more drinks!.

My friend only did it for a couple years and then quit!. She made tons of money (not the after-hours kind!) but she was tired of feeling like a piece of meat, getting home at 6 a!.m!. and having her neighbors thinking she was a prostitute!. I'm just warning you, beware of what you're getting into!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hand in a regular resume or job application!.!.!. then wear something that shows off the goods to the interview!.

It may sound sexist to say it!.!.!. But they aren't looking for an MBA!. They are seeking attractive people with a marginal amount of personability!.

EDIT:

Sorry, was thinking about the what to wear bit!.!.!. Something sexy!.!.!. but not whorish!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Normal resume, definitely look like someone who has it together, neat, people skills, attractiveWww@FoodAQ@Com

Regular resume will do!. Showing you have experience dealing with people is a plus!.

There are promotion jobs that specialize in this type of stuff (although you may already know this)!.

good luckWww@FoodAQ@Com
