If I'm going for beer it'll have to be Molson Canadian; the ol' grey lady never lets me down!. On tap preferably, but bottles work well!. If I want to go low-rent, Carling Black Label in the big cans!.
Mixed drinks- depends on the time of year/location!. If I'm somewhere renown for a particular cocktail we'll go that route; otherwise I usually order scotch on the rocks!.
A few basic cocktails to experiment with:
Jack & Coke- classic!.!.!.easy to make!. Jack Daniels and Coca Cola
Rum & Coke- made with!.!.!.wait for it!.!.!.rum and Coca Cola!.
Tom Collins- Gin & Collins mix (or the vodka collins)
Screwdriver- vodka and orange juice
Vodka & Cranberry- known as a seabreeze!.!.!.made with (you guessed it) vodka and cranberry juice
Martini- while I conder the choco-tini to be a crime against humanity, the basic martini (gin with a hint of dry vermouth), made well, is a thing of beauty of living proof that god exists!. You can also make a vodka martini (made with!.!.!.well, vodka)!.
There's an entire litany of blender drinks (margaritas, daquiris, etc!.) that have their own subculture!.
It really depends on your pallete and what kind of liquor you like; once you establish your preference (some people really like vodka, others rum) then go from there!.
Since I like scotch whisky (and its American cousin, bourbon), I'll typically stick to whisky cocktails (the Manhattan, a Jack & coke) if I don't order a plain scotch whisky on the rocks!.
Hope this helps!. Drink well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

For the mixed drink, try a Margarita or a vodka martini!. If you want something that is really sweet, a friend has recommended a chocolate martini!
For the shot, try a flavored schnapps (but only one, as they are really rich and strong!)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My favorite is rum and pineapple!. Vodka and pineapple is good too!. As is cranberry vodka or a gin and tonic!. You could also try redbull and vodka!. As for shots try lemon drops, Yeagar Bombs, or Shot of chilled Patron!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Most any kind of beer on tap!. Prefer microbrews, but I'm not a total beer snob, and will do Miller, etc, if there's nothing else!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
